The anticipation for the Release of the 2011 Concord XI are growing by the second! With a release date of December 23, 2011, the search for the most highly sought after shoe is ON! Retailers are prepared for the largest turnout in the Air Jordan franchise history.
As we speak, shoe stores all over the country are taking in their stock of the legendary shoes. If you are one of the lucky few that will get your hands on a pair on the December release date, consider yourself a true sneaker head! .. and also LUCKY. Malls are expecting lines to form starting at 12:00 pm midnight. Retailers are encouraging people to know of a location and get their early as possible. Wednesday I will be releasing a detailed list of stores that will be releasing the Jordan Concords XI.
I know that there are a few sneaker seekers who have doubts about not purchasing the Concord Xi’s. You may have argue that this isn’t by far the best retro release Air Jordan has experienced. You may simply not like the design with the icey blue bottoms. Whatever your argument is, I’m sure this post will change your mind quickly and open your eyes to 5 reasons why you should invest in a piece of American shoe history!
When you think of the brand “Jordan” you immediately relate it to the best shoe selling franchise in the world. Michael Jordan left his legacy on this earth, not only in the game of basketball, but also in the world of fashion. Air Jordan’s were shoes that instantly became classics once Michael Jordan put his specifications and hard work into the design. Owning a pair of Jordan’s means you own a piece of history. It would be extremely hard for any other shoe brand to de-throne the almighty “Air Jordan”.
Here are my 5 reasons why you should invest in the Jordan Concords XI
1. Quality Guaranteed
Often times we purchase shoes from other brands that we think have demographically satisfied our fashion appetite. We assume that other shoe companies have put the time into correcting any mistakes (design, colorways, etc) by listening to the requests of their customers. We assume that the other shoe companies make their shoes with the best quality and dedication possible.
Wrong….
Jordan goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their customers are getting what they are paying for. The Jordan brand is so precious to Michael Jordan that he personally ensures the quality, time, and effort that is guaranteed.
The last thing any avid sneaker head wants is a shoe that doesn’t meet the demographics or specifications of those who it’s trying to reach. At Jordan, every shoe is designed with the customer in mind. They take the time to conduct surveys, contests, and give aways to make sure they are getting the most honest response from their customers. If, as a collective group, people feel that Jordan isn’t responding with what their customers want, I’m sure it would be a matter of days/weeks before Jordan is responding with something better to satisfy our fashion needs. They LISTEN to their customers. For this very reason, Jordan is hailing as the best shoe company of all time.
2. Newly Added Feature
As with any shoe what is being crafted for a re-launch, the designers are bound to add some distinguishable touches to the design in order to make the shoe stand out even more than it’s previous launch. The designers take on the task of recreating a shoe that sold incredibly well in the 90′s and adding features that are common in most shoes in today’s shoe market.
One common feature that most brands have stuck to that is reaching specifications all across the shoe market …. Icey Blue Bottoms!
I can admit that this added feature gives the shoe a more modern touch and feel. It proves that Jordan is actually keeping themselves in the loop by incorporating design features that have gone over really well with other shoe lines. Of course Jordan will somehow tweak it to their advantage by making it as noticeable as possible.
- Notice the Dark blue along the ball of your foot also along the heel of your foot.
- The light icey blue directly under the foot. I feel this touch is incredible, especially when you think of how the foot is made. That part of the foot doesn’t touch the ground! cool right?
- Last but not least, you can’t acknowledge the bottom design without pointing out the “jump-man” logo in the center of the shoe. That alone seals the deal for me!
Designers have mentioned that the Icey bottoms on shoes gives the appearance of a durable and dirt-resistant shoe. The Icey bottoms take much longer to deteriorate and fade than other shoes without that feature.
3. The DEMAND
With every re-launch of Jordan shoes, the demand tends to exceeds the actual production. This means that people are going above and beyond their normal means of attaining the shoes. Most people have already locked in their exclusive pair through their favorite sneaker website online. Although the price will skyrocket if purchased online, it seems to be the only way to guarantee a pair sign, sealed, and delivered!
When seeking such a highly anticipated shoe, people don’t realize that they must search harder, longer, and FASTER in order to receive a pair.
On the eve of high profiled shoes such as the Concords XI there will be lines forming at retailers all over the nation. They often begin forming at midnight and continues to grow longer as the release time approaches. People will camp out (if allowed) just to ensure their spot in line. I do believe that this will be one of those launches where people will have to do their RESEARCH before they head out to the retailers for numerous reasons.
- You want to make sure that your local retailer will have the shoe in stock on the day it releases.
- Find out what time that particular store opens and what time do they allow for lines to start forming.
- Find out how many of each size will they carry (most stores carry no more than 10-15 pair per size) which is why finding out the first two points are very important.
- Find out if the price differs amongst stores (often times it doesn’t but it doesn’t hurt to be certain!)
By answering the above questions, you are putting yourself at a great advantage because you are informed about things that most people pay no attention to before they head out shopping.
4. Exclusivity
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but ….. Everyone will NOT be getting their hands on a pair of these shoes! With such a high anticipation for the shoe, it kind of comes with the territory. I believe for this very reason the Concords will be so historical! Think about it, If the Treasury department made more money just to pay back the debt we are in, it would decrease the value of the dollar greatly! It kind of the same thought. If Jordan produced so many shoes that would stock up every retailer in the nation, it wouldn’t be such an anticipation because people will know that they can randomly stroll to the store and pick up a pair during a normal day’s shopping trip!
Without the exclusivity there wouldn’t be a thrill building up to the release date! people wouldn’t be as pressured to go to the stores to get the shoes. The adrenaline wouldn’t be running high! lol
For this very reason, I want to stress the fact from above. Do Your Research! Make sure you can answer the questions above without any doubts. If you have to, call the stores to get the scoop. I’m sure they would tell you everything you need to know because they don’t want any angry customers showing up at their stores on the day of the release. So utilize your resources and make them work in your favor.
Everyone will be trying to get their hands on a pair, but you will have the advantage just by doing a little research ahead of time 
5. Relevance
The Jordan brand has been around for over 20 years. They have put their all into every shoe they created in order to satisfy their loyal customers. With the abundant rise of competitors, Jordan has yet to change their style or purpose.
Michael Jordan wanted his brand to cater not only to his fans, but to those who truly love sneakers with a passion. As his brand continues to inspire people daily, I don’t think he will lose focus of what he has accomplished and yet to accomplish.
Continuing to be relevant has not been an issue with Jordan. And I don’t think it’s due to their marketing team. It’s due to their dedication to produce shoes that people are willing to spend a great deal of money for to obtain. I credit their respect for a man who changed the game of basketball as we know it! Having such an impact on someone’s life will inspire them to do great things and achieve even more than they aspire to.
With the release of the Concords XI quickly approaching it’s important to do your research to ensure yourself a pair of history! Remember, with the anticipation running high …… So should your adrenaline!
